Q1.
When I view the Online Learning Program with
my dialup connection, the images and audio
often take a long time to begin playing, and
while I'm watching them they sometimes skip.
A1:
The Online Learning Program will work with
a dialup connection but you will have an easier
time if you view the program with a broadband
connection. If you must view the program with
dialup, however, you may experience:
A. A black screen while the program loads
This
is a common occurrence with dialup. You may
not see any of the program for several minutes
while it loads on your computer.
B.
Video and audio that skips or stutters.
Again,
this is a common occurrence with dialup. The
modules are relatively small files by most
standards, but they can take quite a while
to load with slower connections. When connecting
through dialup, you will have better results
if you let the program sit for several minutes
and allow it to fully load before starting.
When the program has loaded completely, you
will encounter a smoother visual/audio presentation.
Q2.
When I connect to the Online Learning Program
I only see a black screen.
A2:
First off, make certain you have the latest version of Flash installed
on the computer you are using to connect.
You can download the newest version of Flash
for free at www.adobe.com.
Second, contact your Network administrator
to see if they are aware of any issues with
users on your network viewing or using Flash.
Some networks have blocked the use of Flash
for various reasons, and this will obviously
prevent you from using the Online Learning
Program.
